What wealth management actually involves
- Understanding your position. What you own, what you owe, what you earn, and what you actually want your money to do.
- Establishing your capacity for risk. Not only how you feel about risk, but how much of it your plan could survive.
- Modelling the future. Cashflow planning to test whether you can retire when you want, and what happens if markets fall or you live to 100.
- Building the portfolio. The right investments and tax wrappers to deliver the plan, chosen from the whole market.
- Reviewing it. Circumstances, markets and tax rules change. A plan that is never revisited stops being a plan.
The advice we provide in Chester
For growing and protecting wealth, we advise on savings and investments and ongoing wealth preservation built around your goals and attitude to risk, using ISAs, pensions, general investment accounts and other wrappers to keep tax as low as reasonably possible.
For passing wealth on, we advise on trusts and inheritance tax planning, including gifting, trusts and business relief, and we coordinate this with your will so the whole picture works together.
For retirement, we advise on pensions, consolidating old pots, drawdown and annuities, so your income is sustainable and tax-efficient.

Wealth Management

Protection Planning
Life rarely gives notice. Life insurance, critical illness cover, income protection and private medical insurance, arranged so your family and your income are covered if the worst happens, without paying for cover you don't need.
Financial Planning for Business Owners
Running a business leaves little time for your own finances. We bridge the gap between the two, advising on company pension schemes, corporate savings and investments, and protection, working alongside your accountant and legal advisers.
Wills & Power of Attorney
Making your wishes clear now saves your family difficulty later. We help you put a valid will in place and set up a lasting power of attorney, so the right people can act if you no longer can.
Probate & Estate Administration
Administering an estate is daunting at the worst possible time. We guide executors through the grant of probate, settle debts and taxes, and distribute the estate properly, with a fixed quote agreed before any work begins.
Chartered and independent, and why both matter
Two words do most of the work when choosing a firm. Chartered is the highest professional standard in UK financial planning, requiring Level 6 qualifications, five years’ experience and a code of ethics, and it is held by a minority of firms. Independent means we are not tied to any provider and must consider products from across the whole market.
Together they mean the advice you get is both technically strong and genuinely unbiased. It matters most where the decisions are complex or irreversible, which is exactly where wealth management tends to live.
What our advice costs
Your first consultation is free and at our cost. If you go ahead, we charge a fixed initial fee for your financial planning report, then a tiered percentage of the portfolio implemented, so the rate falls as the value rises. Couples advised together are treated as one combined amount, which usually means a lower overall rate. Ongoing service is optional and starts from as little as 0.3% a year, with no minimum contract, and you can stop it whenever you like. Full detail is on our charges page.
